Dhanwankote, Lower Kote locals suffering due to no road connectivity | | | Early Times Report Rajouri Sept 23: Alleging neglect of their locality, the locals from Dhanwankote, Lower Kote and Chatyar today said that despite several schemes being initiated by the union as well as state government to create better road connectivity their locality yet has been neglected leaving people of area to suffer at a lot. Residents of area lamented that approximately seven thousand souls in Chatyar Dhanwan and Lowerkote of Rajouri district are facing miseries in absence of road connectivity. Some recalled that construction of road likely to connect three villages Chatyar, Lower Kote and Dhanwan Kote started some fifteen years ago but the same remains confined only in papers. "We are being neglected and discriminated by both the district administration and the public representatives elected till date, they alleged, adding, "despite repeated request in this regard we failed to get any response from all quarters." Locals said that number of roads have been constructed in adjoining areas but their fate has not changed till today and are forced to walk to reach to main road. Agitated villagers also added that they have submitted memorandum to concerned MLA, Executive Engineer PWD, R&B Rajouri but still looking forwards for their response. Local also warned if their demand is not conceded to they will be left with no option but to take to roads. Meanwhile they also appealed to Chief Minister to intervene in this case and direct the concerned department to construct the road. |
