Two held with 1200 intoxicants | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 23: In continuation with special drive against drugs under operation "Sanjeevani " launched by Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu, Jammu Police today claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers alongwith 1200 intoxicant capsules and tablets during a naka under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kahna Chak in city outskirts. "The accused have been identified as Parshotam Singh alias Pappi and Balbir Singh alias Kuna both residents of Mishriwala, Jammu, police sources said. According to police sources, during naka checking, Kahna Chalk police achieved a major success when a police party headed by ASI Mohan Lal intercepted aforesaid two persons for their suspicious movements on seeing police team and accordingly they were stopped. "During their frisking police team recovered 1200 intoxicants from their possession," police said, adding the duo was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 131/2016 under section 48/B Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kahna Chak and further investigations of the case are on to ascertain source and destination of the consignment. The catch was made by SHO Kahna Chack Rajesh Kumar and SDPO Domana, Surinder Kumar under the direction of SP Rural, Arun Kumar. It is learnt during preliminary enquiry from accused that this drug was to be distributed amongst the known drug peddlers or consumers of the area. |
