The Art of Living conducts workshop 9/23/2016 11:25:00 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 23: The Art of living Jammu chapter organized 3 days workshop on 'Organic Home Farming & Gardening Techniques'. The course was conducted by National Agriculture Teacher Bela Golwala from The Art of Living International Centre and Ashram at Bangalore. As in today's world, whatever we eat is already somehow mixed with a lot of artificial manure, fertilizers and medicines. It is of great importance to understand and know various organic and safe ways of farming/gardening. The course included extensive theory & practical training of growing organic vegetables in your Kitchen garden, balcony or terrace. The various techniques of making pesticides and fertilizers were taught and the main ingredient of these fertilizers & pesticides was cow dung & cow urine. Emphasis was laid on zero budget home gardening and practical training of growing organic vegetables on terrace, kitchen or balcony. She also guided about how to protect plants from virus, fungi and insects. The emphasis was also put on the importance of desi cows. Further procedure to make Pesticides like Brahastra, Nimastra & Agniastra was taught.
