Hold probe into motivated transfer in Edu dept: Harsh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: Expressing solidarity with the agitating teachers and their announcement for hunger strike, is scheduled to be started fromSeptember 26 against the irregular and whimsical transfers. Harsh Dev Singh, Former Education Minister appealed to the Chief Minister and Education Minister to intervene personally so as to take cognizance of alleged paid transfers and ensure justice to the aggrieved teachers. According to press release, he said that a high level probe was necessitated in view of widespread allegations of violation of norms, whimsical transfers in circumvention of transfers policy besides complaints of monetary and other extraneous considerations in the process of transfers in the Education Department. Addressing a delegation of teachers who called on him today, Singh regretted that the department had thrown all norms and procedures to the winds and effected highly irregular transfers which had created all round condemnation in Jammu region. He expressed his dismay that the transfer list of Masters and Lecturers revealed that dozens of Masters had been transferred against non-existent posts while several others were transferred against posts which were to become available in December 2016 and January 2017. He further pointed out the large scale 'zero' km transfers of Masters in violation of transfer norms which were reported to have been made on monetary considerations which however needed to be investigated. Urging upon the Chief Minister to take cognizance of the large scale irregularities in such transfers, Singh called for a vigilance or STF probe into the whole gamut of transfers. |
