Administration fails to demolish structures on state land, superficial attempts made | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Nov 20:- District Administration Kathua has failed on all grounds to vacate encroached land near Badala village and demolish structure on state land at National Highway opposite to Kharote morh and constructed a temple for eye-wash. Even superficial attempt to vacate the land was taken by district administration and Police forces under the supervision of ACR Jatendra Mishra, Tehsildar Avtaar Singh and Dy SP Ajay Kumar, SHO Kathua and other officials. Sources reported that political leaders sitting in state government's cabinet direct administration to vacate encroached land from public stages and through media but it is come into notice that when bureaucrats reach to vacate encroached land, these leaders telephonically forbid to take any action for their self interest. Mohan Lal, a local, said, "Responsible people forbade grabbers but was unable to do any strong action against such persons as concerned department appears to be in deep slumber and back the grabbers," and added that if the encroachment would not be control, grabbers would encroach nearby remaining land too. Sushil Singh, another local said, "district administration would come forward to vacate the land that can be utilized for much purpose." He added that the land in crores had been encroached with the purpose to convert in commercial purposes after few years and it would not be tolerated. He said," many pastures, forest, irrigation, state and other government concerned land have been encroached in entire district Kathua duly backed by revenue and concerned department officials," and added that its all due to political pressures and laziness in the part of concerned officials. Senior citizens demanded strict action against encroachers and Special Investigation against tainted officials who indirectly/directly back encroachment. They hoped that Prime Minister's decision to control on land mafia would be the right decision to expose the mal-functioning of tainted Revenue officers. |
