JAMMU, Nov 21: SKUAST-Jammu has embarked on a series of programmes to create awareness on soil testing and soil health card among farmers under the NABARD funded project on "promotion of soil health testing for food and livelihood security of farming community". According to press release, an awareness programme on soil health testing was today organized by SKUAST-Jammu at village Churgun, Raipura, Samba under the guidance of Dr. J.P. Sharma , Director Research, SKUAST-J. The Programme was coordinated by Dr. P.K. Rai, Sr. Scientist (soil), ACHR, SKUAST-J alongwith Department of Agriclture, Govt. of J&K.Describing agriculture as the key of poverty eradication, Dr. P.K. Rai, loud the slogan " swastha Dhara Khet Hara" (healthy earth green farm) of Prime minister and emphasized upon nurturing the soil through soil health testing. T Sachin Sharma, JAEO, Department of Agriculture extended vote of thanks to the participants at the end of the programme. |
