G Ngr PS SHO ordered to file fresh status report | Disapperance of girl | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 22: High court judge B S Walia, in a habeous corpus petition, today directed the Gandhi Nagar police station SHO to file a fresh status report in the missing of girl since 2014. The court directive came in a petition filed by Sabia, mother of Renu alias Ruksar, who is missing from her grandfather's residence since August 2014. The Gandhi Nagar police station SHO, who was present in the court, submitted that while efforts were made to trace out the girl, they could not succeed. Pleading the case, petitioner's counsel she was having the apprehension that her daughter might have been murdered and burried at the residence of the private respondent upon which a religious structure has been raised at Nai Basti. He alleged that the religious structure had come into being only after the missing of the petitioner's daughter and it was not there until August 2014. He said a direction was issued by the court on Septmeber 2, 2016 to file the status report and since then, petitioner had allegedly been receiving threats from the private respondents, who are forcing her to withdraw the case or face the consequences. After hearing him, Justice Walia directed the SHO to conduct the inquiry and take help of the Wakf Board as well and file the fresh status report with respect to the existence of the religious structure at the residence of the private respondent within six weeks. The matter be again listed in the week commencing December 26,2016, he directed. --(JNF) |
