28 officials including 7 officers found absent from duties in Verinag | | | Saahil Suhail

Anantnag, Nov 22: In a bid to ensure attendance of employees in Government offices, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dooru on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag paid surprise visits in at least fourteen offices on Tuesday. According to official sources, 28 employees including seven heads of different departments were also found absent. A report received by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Syed Aabid Rasheed this evening from SDM Dooru Asalam Choudary mentions that offices of AEE R&B Dooru, AWE PDD Dooru, office of the Floriculture department in Verinag, Zonal Education Officer Verinag Tehsil Verinag, TSWO Dooru and office of the Verinag Development Authority (VDA) were locked as all controlling officers were unavailable in office. SDM Dooru also found a dozen employees absent from the duties during surprise raid. The officer has sent a detailed report to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and sought strict action against the absent employees. On being contacted, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Syed Aabid Rasheed Shah assured action against the absent employees. "Action as warranted under rules will be initiated" DC Anantnag responded to text message while confirming. It is pertinent to mention here that since July due to uprising in Kashmir, government offices are witnessing absenteeism. |
