Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 29: The NSS unit of the MIER College of Education organized activities related to the National Integration Week from 19th to 25th November 2016. Renu Gupta, Director MIER was the chief guest on the occasion. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, N.R. Sharma, Dean Academics MIER along with the HOD's, staff members and students of all the departments were also present. On the concluding day, the program began with the patriotic song sung by the NSS volunteers. A Fund-raising campaign, a Rangoli making competition, a patriotic song competition and a poster making competition marked the celebrations. NSS volunteers of B.Ed., B.Ed Special Education and M.Ed. departments participated in all the events with great fervor and zeal. The rangoli competition was held on the theme 'Unity in Diversity' which was adjudged by Annie Koul, HOD B.Ed, Rohnika Sharma, HOD B.Ed Special and Angela Gadroo, Quality Assurance Officer MIER. In all seven teams participated in the competition. First prize was bagged by Rose team, Tulip team clinched the second place and Lily team was adjudged third. The posters were made on the theme "Communal Harmony" and were displayed for the audience. First, second and third prizes were bagged by Ragni Sharma, Jigmet from B.Ed. and Tania Gill from B.Ed. Special. In the patriotic song competition Pooja from M.Ed. stood first in solo and a team from B.Ed. clinched the first place in group song competition. The fund raising campaign was inaugurated by Adit Gupta, Jt. Director MIER. A total sum of Rs. 2100 was collected by distributing tickets to the students and the staff members. The campaign was initiated by National Foundation for Communal Harmony. |
