Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 29: Department of Agriculture Jammu conducted two day orientation programme on Soil Testing for staff mostly VAEA`s drawn from different Districts of Jammu Division under centrally sponsored scheme ATMA which was inaugutared by Director Agriculture Jammu A.K. Malhotra . While delivering inaugural address, Director Agriculture Jammu asked the participant trainees to get full conversant with the Soil testing protocols and methodology and develop skills for handling of chemicals and sophisticated instruments like Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Flame Photometer, Spectrophotometer etc. and online sample registration, analysis result entry, fertilizer recommendations and Soil health card generation on National portal for ensuring success of the mission. He added said that Department has targeted to provide Soil Health Cards to each farmer within two years to enable them for balanced application of fertilizers thus restroring soil health. He also impressed upon the trainees and staff to expedite the process of soil sampling with GPS coordinates and their analysis strictely as per guidelines. The detailed power point presentations and practilcal sessions were delivered on retaled topics by Resourse Persons including Vinod Ganjoo, Daisy Bhan, S. Malvinder Singh Isher, Assistant Soil Chemist Jammu, Ashwani Kotwal, Research officer, Neeraj Rajwal, Ashu Kakoria, S. Om Singh. Sushil Kumar, Arun Khajuria and Vishali Bagal briefed about uploading of data on Soil Health Card Portal. At the concluding ceremoney A.K. Malhotra distributed certificates to the participants . The other dignitaries present on the Occasion were C.M. Sharma, Deputy Director (Central), Bulesh Zutshi, Dy. Director Trainings were also present on the ocassion. |
