Driver keeps Rajouri PHC ambulance at home, offers taxi on 'commission' | | | AB Sharma Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 15: The villagers of Taryath tehsil have complained that the ambulance allotted to the local Primary Health Centre (PHC) here is not being put to public use. The locals said the ambulance driver keeps the vehicle parked at his home and whenever any patient needs its services he gets them a "taxi on commission-basis." "For any emergency he offers taxis by taking commission from them but the ambulance is not put to use," the locals said. "Be it the ailing or pregnant woman, the ambulance is never available for the needy people of this area," the locals complained. When contacted the concerned Block Medical Officer declined to comment on the issue. "Talk to my seniors," he said and dropped the phone. Meanwhile, the locals have appealed Health Minister Bali Bhagat to look into the matter. |
