Eight years RI in minor’s rape case

Jammu, Feb 16: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi S R Gandhi today awarded 8 years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Kewal Krishan S/o Krishnu R/o Samokh Tehsil and District Reasi.
As per the case, On 01.09.2014 prosecutrix had gone in the jungle for grazing the cattle and in the afternoon when she was returning to her house, the accused confronted her, gagged her month, took her with him and raped her in the night and thereafter, abandon her. After that prosecutrix reached to the house of her sister next morning and disclosed the incident to her who narrated it to her mother-in-law and thereafter, her parents were telephonically informed. The father of the prosecutrix reached there and took the prosecutrix to their house.
Principal Sessions Judge Reasi SR Gandhi observed that Court is of the considered opinion that the imprisonment for eight years shall sub-serve the ends of justice. Accordingly, it is ordered that for commission of offence under Section 376 of RPC, the convict- Kewal Krishan shall undergo rigorous imprisonment for eight years and a fine of Rs.10,000/-.
