Udhampur, Mar 4: While Pakistan fires shells and bullets on India India a contractor uses Pakustan made cement to repair Municipal Committee Ramnagr building in distric Udhampur.
Pertinently the authorities approve only high standard cement such as acc , Ambuja , ultra tack cements but it remains to be seen how the contractor used Pakisrani cement.
Surprisingly the present government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is stressing more and more on the use of indigenous products and has successfully started 'Make in India' programme, the use of belligerent nation's cement and that too in government works has raised many eyebrows. Many prominent locals and civil society members have expressed anguish over this move by the authorities concerned.
While on one hand use of Pakistan made cement is badly affecting the
Indian manufacturers here as far as profits are concerned, this on the other hand is strengthening the economy of rival nation.
On the condition of anonymity, a social worker said that first the relations between India and Pakistan should improve then such business relations can be allowed to move ahead.
The locals have taken strong note of use of Pakistani cement by the contractor. "Such things cannot be tolerated when our soldiers are getting killed on the LoC," they made clear.
