| Man held for raping servant | | | Early Times report
Jammu, Mar 4: Akhnoor police today arrested a man who allegedly raped a woman who was employed by him at his poultry farm and thrashed his minor son who resisted rape at Nai Wala area.
Police sources said that alleged rape accused identified as Ashwani Kumar of Sohal had employed a couple in his poultry farm at Nai Wala sometime ago.
Police quoting the complainant alleged that on March 2, husband of victim visited his house at Deyaran and his wife along with their minor son stayed there.
"The alleged rapist in drunken condition raped the woman and also thrashed his minor son", said a police official adding that the minor boy managed to escape from the spot.
Later, the alleged accused also snatched mobile phone of the woman and threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The woman was assisted by chairman Voice for Rights-Deepika Singh Rajawat and lodged complaint with Akhnoor police.
Acting promptly on the police immediately arrested the accused and registered a case under FIR 40/18 under sections 376, 382 and 323 of RPC at Akhnoor police station.
Police further said that medical examination of the victim has been conducted and further investigation in this regard is on. |
