AJCSF reiterates communal harmony | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4: All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) today convened a meeting of its core group to review the burning issues of Jammu in recent past. The meeting was held at the Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan under the AJCSF Convener and former minister Th. Gulchain Singh Charak. Former MLC, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, AVSM expressed concern about the illegal settlements in the close vicinity of the Amy Camps on government land in Jammu with obvious connivance of the forest and revenue staff while the government seems to be looking the other way. "Why not take Rohangiyas to Srinagar if they have sympathizers in Kashmir Valley," asked members. Amanat Ali Shah, President Anjuman-e-Imamia and some members decried the inefficacy of various agencies that failed to track the terrorist movement from South Kashmir to important army installation at Jammu. Former DDC GA Khwaja called it "a matter of serious concern the way Jammu is being targeted". Brig MS Jamwal Ex- Army Intelligence corps called it a part of much bigger design to create panic and disturb life in Jammu, which has remained peaceful so far. Many constructions close to Army camps have high buildings which can be used for observation by miscreants, he pointed out. Speaking for the business community, Yash Paul Gupta, president FRAJ and Neeraj Anand, president CTRJ said that business promotion and development need peace and security to prosper. Veteran Warrior turned journalist and defence analyst Col Dr Virendra K Sai, VrC insisted that the Sunjwan attack, the MLA, raising Pro-Pakistan slogans in Legislative Assembly and the efforts to give communal color to the sad heinous but isolated crime in Kathua are all parts of a sinister design and need to be curbed with strong hands. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak summing up the meeting shared the grave concerns expressed by the members. He intimated the violent outburst of emotions of people at Kathua where he had gone to attend the last rites of Lt Sub Madan Lal Chaudhry, matyred at Sunjwan as the news of pro-Pakistan slogans reached the cremation site putting salt on the already painful bleeding wounds. |
