Udhampur, Mar 14: Three days capacity building programme for the women Police Officers with special focus on Crime Against Women and its investigations was conducted in Sher-i-kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur from March 12 in which 33 women police officers participated. Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, ADGP, Director SKPA Udhampur who was accompanied by Stanzin Norboo, SSP and Murtaza Nasir, DDP inaugurated this capacity building programme coordinated by S.Randheer Singh, SSP who also presented welcome address and course was ably conducted by Prosecuting Officer Neha Nayyar. This programme was sponsored by the National Commission of Women (NCW) in collaboration with BPR&D (Bureau of Police Research & Development). As the main task of NCW is to study and monitor all matters relating to the constitutional and legal safeguards provided for women to review the existing legislations and suggest amendments wherever necessary. Experienced and renowned resource persons in this area of knowledge interacted with the course participants which included Dr. Kavita Suri, (Head of Department of Lifelong Learning, JU, also a member of State Women Commission), Sunita Kargotra, (CPO RPHQ), Er. Gagan Deep Singh (I/C Cyber Cell Jammu), Dr. Nancy Mengi (Asstt. Prof. CUJ), Dr. Vinka Maini, (Registrar, Deptt. Of Forensic Medicine, GMC Jammu), Kamal Sharma, (CPO SKPAU), Sunniya Wani, JKPS (DySP), Rohit Koul (Scientific Officer retd. FSL Jammu) assisted by Mohd. Asif Choudhary I/C FSL Udh-Reasi Range, Inspector Jagpal Sharma and SI Mahmood Ahmed from Police Academy Udhampur. |
