Harsh appeals Guv to settle issue of District status to Nowshera-Sunderbani-Kalakote
3/14/2018 11:07:05 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 14: Perturbed by the Government apathy towards the civil unrest and mass agitation for the demand of district status at Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote in Rajouri, JKNPP has appealed to the Governor for his kind indulgence so as to settle the issue and diffuse the crisis. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Smelling a deep rooted conspiracy hatched by the unholy alliance and BJP leaders in particular, Harsh Dev Singh said that they had purportedly provoked the people in Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote under a well planned 'divide and rule' policy. The people sharing a common demand of creation of another District in Rajouri were divided and pitted against one another so as to delay and thereby deny and deprive them of their most coveted aspiration of an administrative unit which was genuine in nature, he regretted. He held the Saffron party squarely responsible for mishandling the situation in Rajouri. With Nowshera observing complete bandh for the last 28 days and having suffered immense losses in terms of commerce, trade and academics, the normal activity in the other two areas of Sunderbani and Kalakote had also come to grinding halt due to prolonged shutdown calls, anguished Harsh said. Dubbing the State government's idea of proposing rotational ADCs in the disturbed tehsils as mere eye wash, Harsh Dev Singh said that the arbitrary decision had further worsened the situation as the people had categorically refused to accept the proposal and warned to intensify the agitation until their genuine demand was conceded by the government.
