3/14/2018 11:09:00 PM
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 14: Joint Action Committee (JAC), Nowshera , spearheading peaceful indefinite strike-s for district status with HQs at Nowshera for the last 27 days, have decided to lead a protest rally to Jammu on foot. The rally is likely to be attended by hundreds of people from every part of Nowshera sub division.
Immediately after this decision, the government has decided to send a three member high power delegation of IAS officers to meet the JAC members.
Reacting to government decision, JAC members including president Beopar Mandal Subhash Kapoor said, "It was a welcome step by the government but the government should implement its decision with letter and spirit as the people of Nowshera will not accept except district status".
They added a high power delegation comprising of BJP Ministers including Bali Bhagat, Abdul Ghani Kohli, came to meet us on February 23 and had promised to appoint ADC within 10 days but without any action in this matter.
Last week Chief Minister held meeting with our delegation at Jammu and afters one hour long discussion assured us to meet us again after holding meeting with BJP Minister within 2-3 days, added JAC members.
"Chief Minister had also deceived us because before we could reach Nowshera back, government issued order for rotational ADC post for Sunderbani-Nowshera sub divisions" said JAC members.
They added, while declaring ADC posts for Kotranka, Bilawar etc, the government didn't constitute and committee, they why for us.
"If the government adopting delays tactics deliberately to divide the people and let down their moral, the government is on wrong track. People have decided to fight till they achieve their goals" said JAC members.
They added that they have already decided to move to Jammu on March 17 to 19 on feet in a big protest rally comprising of hundreds of people including women and children and all the expenses will be borne by the Beopar Mandal and contribution by the people.
At Jammu people will ghearo the secretariat and BJP Ministers in favour of their demand of district status.
"Before proceeding for Jammu or any further course of action we will wait for the outcome of our talks with the three members committee and the government's response on their report. We are hoping for favourable decision from the government to end this month long stalemate and complete bandh" said people's representatives.
