Jammu, Mar 18: Three artists of J&K state participated in the National Art Festival (North- East)- 2018 organized by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. The festival was opened by C S Krishna Setty, Administrator, Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA), New Delhi. Twenty one senior and young painters from different states of the country participated in the event. Twenty one artists namely Jang S. Verman, Masood Hussain and Arshad Sualeh (Jammu & Kashmir), Prashantu Sinha, Suman Majumder, Manish Bhattacharjee and Suman Bhatacharjee (Tripura), Dr. Meinam Irikhomba Meetal and Hijam Satyabrata (Manipur), Ratandeep Paul, Pallabi Sarma, Paranbanti Devi, Kishore Kumar Mandal and Hemanta Kumar Shahu (Assam), Treiborlang Lyngdoh Mawlong (Meghalaya), Narinder Singh Chintu (Udaipur), Srinath Bidare and K G Lingadevaru (Karnataka), Raghuvir Pandharinath Newere (Maharashtra), Anil Ajeri (Madhya Pradesh) and Sudhanshu Sutar (UP) participated in the festival. Speaking on the valedictory ceremony C S Krishna Setty, Administrator, LKA, New Delhi said that the purpose of organizing this kind of Festivals is to spread the message among communities to celebrate creativity and making interaction more convenient and accessible among the artists of different states of the country. This time like it had been in the past, the event was designed as National Art Festival (North East) so that the artists from North- Eastern states get sufficient exposure about the art scenario in the country at different corners. He added that the interaction between the artists would provide them the opportunity to know in a better way the possibilities in art practices, mediums, techniques and other vivid approaches in the field of art. |
