| AVP welcomes SC judgment regarding SC/ST Atrocities Act | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 21: Aarakshan Virodhi Party (AVP) under the chairmanship of R P Seth today convened a meeting wherein members welcomed the judgment of Supreme Court of India regarding SC /ST Atrocities Act.
It is evident from the judgment that this act is being misused by these people to harass others under one pretext or other. AVP suggested abolishing all such laws which are based on caste and religion. Government must avoid making such laws those divide the society. Act should be an atrocities act not SC/ST atrocities act .
While speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Narad General Secretary of the party criticized the Congress party for opposing the judgment. Narad warned all political parties to avoid interfering in such judgments of the Supreme Court which always delivers justice in interest of the nation. |
