BJP using Police to silence voice of dissent: Harsh
3/21/2018 10:36:37 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 21: Accusing the BJP of using the police to bully the Panthers, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today sought the direct intervention of the Governor to save the lives and liberties of Panthers Party leaders who faced threats not only from the BJP but largely from some Policemen.
He said that Panther leaders and workers were presently being harassed, intimidated, assaulted and booked in false and frivolous cases by a highly biased Police Administration in Udhampur and their bosses acting as agents of the BJP Ministers and MLAs especially DyCM Nirmal Singh.
Having been exposed by Panthers Party for their omissions, commissions and their betrayal to Jammu cause, the BJP leaders had used the police as well as Civil Administration in Udhampur to terrorize the leaders of NPP in gross abuse of their position and authority, claimed Harsh.
He said that the SSP Udhampur had reportedly instructed the SHOs of various Police Stations not to entertain any criminal complaint against BJP workers while continuing with the witch-hunting against the NPP leaders. He was addressing a protest demonstration outside IGP Office Jammu today.
While exposing the Udhampur Police for its sycophancy of BJP leaders, Paramjit Marshall, President Panthers Trade Union said that despite being assaulted by the BJP goons, the FIR was registered against NPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh and his wife at the instance of Dy. Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and other BJP leaders.
Pointing towards the disregard for numerous complaints filed by Panthers Party against the notorious elements in District Udhampur, the Panthers State Secretary Gagan Pratap Singh regretted that not a single complaint had been entertained by the police during the last 2-3 years.
