CUJ organizes International workshop on Soft Materials & Devices | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 21: A one week "International Workshop on Soft Materials and Devices" was organized by Department of Nanoscience and Materials, CUJ and was inaugurated on 21st March, 2018 by Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima, at Temporary Academic Block, Central University of Jammu. The main aim of this workshop is to create awareness amongst the researchers about concurrent topics of research on soft materials and devices. About 40 participants from different region of the state registered for the International workshop. The presidential remark in the workshop was delivered by Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima, Central University of Jammu. Who talk about the great efforts he had put into establishment of Science Departments. He praised the science faculty for their achievements during short time of 18 months and congratulated Dr. Pawan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Nanoscience and Materials for receiving "Faculty Research Award which is considered Amongst Top Ten Most Outstanding Researchers in Material Science" given by Hon'ble Union Misnister for HRD, Prakash Javadekr and Prof. Anil D. Saharabudhe Chairman AICTE, New Delhi on 20th March 2018 at South Block Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi. He also expressed his best wishes to organizers and participants. Dr. Anil K Thakur, Convener workshop welcomed and addressed the gathering and described the motive, objectives and vision behind the workshop. The chairperson of the workshop Prof. S. K. Khosa talked in detail for the need to pursue research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology to remain competitive in the world in this field. Prof. Devanand, Dean Applied and Basic Sciences speaking on the occasion dealt, about the advantages of pursuing research in Nanotechnology. Prof. Lokesh K. Verma, Academic Co-ordinator also spoke on the occasion. After the inaugural function the first lecture of the workshop was delivered by Dr. A. M. Biradar, NPL New Delhi on "Dielectric Spectroscopy: A Powerful Technique of the Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Materials". Subsequently, a talk on "Chiral Molecules to Chiral System" and "Nanostructure Characterization" was delivered by Dr. V. Raman Doddi, and Dharmesh Gala, Head M.C. Division Antron Park, India respectively. The workshop will continue upto March 25, 2018. |
