Udhampur, Mar 30: Students in Panchari area of district Udhampur are suffering for adequate transport. The students from Meer, Kainth Gali, Panjar, Mongri, Kalsote and other far flung and remotest villages spend hours together waiting for public transport, reports said, adding the students reach their respective schools late. Sometimes, the poor students have to go back to their homes. The lack of transport facility is adversely affecting the education in the areas, said an elderly person. The students have to travel a distance of more than 25 kms to reach the schools and this cannot be done on foot. Some girls students are thinking of quitting educational as it is very tough for them to make it to the schools in absence of transport facility. The matter has been raised with the concerned time and again but to no avail. The locals and the students have urged the concerned to do the needful as soon as possible in the interest of education. |
