| D S Behl arrested for instigating Nowshera residents to pursue anti-national activities | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 2: District Administration Rajouri has detained Davinder Singh Behl, Chairman J&K Social Peace Forum (JKSRF), a constituent of Hurriyat Conference headed by Geelani, under Public Safety Act for his anti-national activities and instigating the people of Nowshera on Sunday who are on indefinite strike for district status.
"Behl has been detained for his attempts to instigate people in Nowshera and also issuing provocative statements aimed at challenging the territorial integrity of the country which can deteriorate public order and overall law and order situation in the district," the order reads.
Order for detention of the said person was issued today by Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, District Magistrate (DM) on the recommendations of a dossier submitted by Yougal Manhas, SSP. Behl has been sent to District Jail Dhangri (Rajouri) under PSA warrant executed by Inspector Tahir Yousaf, SHO Rajouri.
Devinder Singh Behl S/o Attar Singh Behl is a resident of Nonial in Nowshera tehsil and was also detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team in connection with Hawala transactions for his role in alleged terrorist activities.
Pertinent to mention Behl on Sunday came to Nowshera and held meeting with some local leaders/ youth (who are on indefinite strike) and exhorted them to' Kotli-Mirpur Chalo' protest to awake the state government as its not paying any heed to their demand of district status and Kashmiri people will support your struggle. His statement was widely condemned by the people of Nowshera and even JAC members have disowned Behal's statement. |
