Lawyers continue agitation, work in High Court remains paralyzed | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 6: In order to garner support to the ongoing agitation, spear-headed by the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, the work in all the courts, Revenue Courts , Tribunals & Commissions including the High Court remained paralyzed. Pursuant to the decision taken in General House meeting held on 3rd April, 2018, the members of the Association staged protest Dharna in the District Court Complex, Jammu, upto 11 .30 AM which was also joined by prominent Sikh leader & Chairman of Transporters Association T.S. Wazir and thereafter a protest rally was taken out city under the leadership of its President B.S. Slathia , Sr. Advocate & all other office bearers including Senior members / Young Lawyers of the Association. B.S. Slathia, Sr. Adv. & President of the Association addressed public gathering at Gole Market Jammu, & warned the Government that it should refrain from its nefarious designs to create wedge amongst the people of Jammu by projecting the ongoing agitation , through its hired stooges, by circulating in social media that the said agitation is communally motivated . The members of the Association were protesting for resolving the following issues at the earliest Withdrawal of Minutes of Meeting/ illegal directions of Tribal Affairs Department, J&K, Fair & independent CBI probe in Rassana murder case, Deportation of illegal immigrants / Rohingyas & Bangladeshis from Jammu region, Sachin Gupta while addressing the Rally has said that all the Associations of civil society have shown their consent to attend the tomorrow's meeting scheduled to be held in J&K High Court , Jammu's Bar Association office on 07-04-2018 at 2 PM, Prem Sadotra, General Secretary while addressing the gathering urged the Coalition Government to come forward & take the lead in resolving the above said issues as the people of Jammu have already suffered a great discrimination since 1947 onwards and this is the high time that the elected representatives particularly from Jammu region should show courage to fulfill their election promises, otherwise the situation may take an ugly turn which shall solely be their responsibility, as the Lawyers fraternity cannot remain as a mute spectators to the deteriorating conditions and the trust deficit caused due to non performing attitude adopted by the persons at the helm of affairs. |
