| Villages of Mendhar decry water shortage | | |

Mendhar, Apr 6: Several villages of Mendhar are without water for the last about one week. The villagers alleged that motor of Lower Ari PHE Pumping Station Near (Sheep Husbandry Department) went out of order a week back.
With this, the water supply to several adjoining villages and hamlets has been affected. The matter was also brought to the notice of PHE staff at Mendhar Sub Division, but they claimed that fault pertained to PHE Mechanical wing Poonch.
The villagers urged upon the higher authorities at Poonch to ensure water supply to the area. The water supply at Mohra Kallar village which is affected for the last about four weeks has also not been restored as its pumping station is also lying out of order. The villagers have urged upon the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to come to the rescue of helpless public. |
