High Court Bar Warns -Amarnath Like Agitation
R.B Suri4/6/2018 11:07:35 PM
Taking the cognizance of the ongoing unrest in Jammu Province, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court BAR Association Jammu held an emergency meeting on Tuesday which was largely attended by the Advocates working in various court fora and has adopted a 'Resolution' in which it has warned the Coalition Government to settle the issues of public importance at the earliest otherwise having remained failure to do so, it would have to face Amarnath like agitation 2008 in the days to come . Jammu and Kashmir High Court BAR Association Jammu has taken the plunge in a big way and threatened the State Government that 2008 like agitation in the Jammu region would be launched shortly. Having discussed the ongoing unrest prevailing in Jammu Province these days in detail, anti minorities policies being evolved and implemented ruthlessly by the State government and has finally adopted a 'RESOLUTION' on the four specific issues given here as under :-
1. Rassana rape and murder case - CBI probe demanded in Kathua unrest
2. Nowshera people struggle for District status - 2months agitation
3. Non vacation of forest land encroached illegally by the tribal families as also transportation of Bovine animals
4. Illegal presence of Rohingyas / Bangladeshis. BAR has demanded their exodus from Jammu Province . Pertinent to mention here that Bar meeting held on Tuesday was significant from the fact that it was largely attended by the large number of the lawyers , cutting across their political affiliations supported the 'BAR RESOLUTION' and endorsed the suggestion that there is a need for a 2008 like agitation in Jammu Province . The readers may just recollect their memories that in 2008 , Amarnath agitation ended after 63 days when for the maximum period Jammu observed continuous BANDH those days and remained under CURFEW indefinitely all along and lost precious lives of 14 innocents who were killed besides massive damage to the governmental properties and assets amounting to several crores of rupees. Also it is worth mentioning here that Jammu Bar was spearheading the said agitation through out . In support Bar demands as captioned above enlisted in the 'RESOLUTION' and as a mark of protest, its leadership declared the suspension of work in all the court fora till coming Saturday. They declared that on Saturday future course of action would be decided whether to go for an agitational path on the large scale or not . Still time is there for the BJP ( as coalition partner ) to reconcile with the captioned issues and take the remedial measures to satisfy the growing resentment among the masses of Jammu region particularly . With all these happenings , the future of Jammu is at stake. There is an apprehension that that if 2008 like agitation commences in Jammu, there will be total chaos and unrest allover resulting which there would be sharp decline in the Vaishno Devi yatra rush . The trade and business all over Jammu region will be in doll drums which will be the greatest set back to the economy of Jammu. When we just recollect those days of unrest and violence , we get a shock of 2008 agitation immediately but one thing is there that BJP has brought Jammu to this stage only ( really pitiable) where Jammu future is at stake . People of Jammu region hold BJP responsible for all this nonsense. It has betrayed Jammu people who always stood at their back and call in the days of crisis in Jammu .Now the situation is such that people have lost their faith on BJP leadership totally and they don't have another option except to follow the able leadership of J&K High Court BAR Association Jammu in the days to come. Almost all the nationalist political organizations operating across the state are raising their voices against this issue and are demanding the exodus of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from the state in no time. But it is serious to note that NC and PDP are silent over the issue involved. National Panthers Party Chief Harsh dev Singh has demanded immediate deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from this state at the earliest otherwise State Government has to face the serious consequences for this lapse. It is strange to state that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti always talks about the initiation of Dialogue by the GOI as soon as possible but she never says that PAK be damaged totally if it has not honoured Indian initiative on this score so many times. If one goes by the historical events , it it is proved that it is the PAKISTAN which always given the setbacks to the talks for bringing the permanent peace in the state of Jammu and Kashmir .Right from the Mir Qasim's Rule in Jammu & Kashmir up to Omar Abdullah's Rule, Jammu, remained as the victim ( throughout ) of the discrimination at the hands of the Kashmiri Rulers of the time in the state. But the height of the prevailing situation is that it has reached the peak during the Mehbooba's Rule in the state. In every field of life , Recruitments , Professional seats , Regularization of DWs, various development projects etc . etc. Jammu is lagging behind as compared to Kashmir region. Daily wagers of Kashmir region are being paid in excess of those of Jammu region . At the moment ,great resentment is brewing in Jammu against the BJP MLAs and the Ministers as they have compromised fully with PDP in all respects at the cost of Jammuites. Discrimination with Jammu is at the peak these days and problems of Jammu region are not redressed properly by the Coalition Government and the people of Jammu region are suffering a lot in respect the recruitments being made by the J&K PSC / J&K SSB and other autonomous bodies of the state . Jammu youth are passing their lives under strains and sleepness nights. Also important to state here that based upon the Agenda of Alliance (AOA) the Coalition Government of PDP and BJP was formed and till date , there is a negligible achievement on this score . AOA has not been implemented by the Coalition Government in the right earnest. It becomes obligatory on the part of the State Government that it should read between the lines and accordingly take the appropriate remedial steps to defuse the volcanic situation which can explode at any time. It should not exercise its high handedness over the prevailing bad situation in Jammu Province as Kashmir is already on fire these days and Jammu situation be saved without wasting any further time.Time and tide wait for none . It is a great he aler . from the point of Army view , Kashmir situation is not so good but going bad to worst . It is like a fun that the State Government is allowing the situation to deteriorate further and on the contrary it is concenterating on appeasing the surrendering militants like anything thereby offering them with Rs.Six lacs for surrendering before the Army/ Police along with the weaponry as also hefty amounts are being paid/ proposed for the arms and the ammunition which they will surrender to the Army/ Police . A stitch in time saves nine . It is the high time to act upon seriously with determination . Rehabilitation Policy of militants - 2004 during Mufti Mohammed's time has not delivered anything concrete rather it contributed negatively .It added fuel to the fire. Kashmr has reached to such a stage from where returning is not so easy .Army is well determined to neutralize all the militants whoever come in their way . The Prime Minister of India Narender Modi has given the outright powers and free hand to the Army to do so enabling them to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the nation at any cost come what may. For god sake, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should open her eyes in doing the things in the right earnest.
It appears that at the fag end of his life and because of the various cases against his son and son in law the former chief of the Huriayat group SAS Geelani became a little bit soft in his action and deeds . His bosses across the borders forced him to resign . His successor Sehrai, it appears that he is very rigid as is evident from the fact that his son who has done the doctorate in education , has joined the path of militancy the day after Sehrai took over as the chief of the Hurriyat group. When asked as to whether he will appeal to his son to come back in the main stream , his reply was on the negative side . This speaks of his rigidity indeed . Speaking strongly , he replied that his son is matured enough to decide the things on his own as he is well matured and further stated that he will not appeal to him for returning to the main stream once again .Political experts feel that due to this threat of BAR , BJP may quit from the Coalition Government paving the way for the imposition of the Governor's Rule in the state . I were going to wind up this article , I came to know from the press that HE the Governor N.N Vohra also acted promptly and sought for the report of the implementation of the agreement reached between the then State Government and the Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti on August 31, 2008 and its latest status from the Divisional Administration of Jammu province , within 20 days positively. Smelling something odd to happen, Governor Vohra, while taking the cognizance of the same took the serious notice immediately and directed the Divisional Administration of Jammu Province to come up with the said report. Alsopertinent to mention here that since the Jammu Bar of the J&K High Court is also jumping into the matter of public importance and also the security concerns for the earliest settlement of all the issues involved. He must have kept in his mind while imparting the directions to the Divisional Administration of Jammu Province.
