Jammu, Apr 7: The NHRM has, in a paid advertisement, on the occassion of world health day assured good health to all irrespective of their financial status and domain etc. The NHRM is mainly concerned with the health of people in rural areas. It perhaps does not know that suitable and adequate health care is not available even in the capital cities of the state. A patient has to wait for months to see a specialist.
There is dearth of doctors and para-medical staff, the patients with minor ailments are referred to big hospitals. The SDHs even lack blood bank facilities.
And, the drugs supplied to government hospirals have been found of sub-standard quality and at times spurious.
The message of the NHRM on world health day had been rejected as wishful thinking. |
