| Delay in disbursement of ration cards, coupons, cash assistance irk migrants | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: Kashmiri Pandit migrants have expressed their grave resentment over the functioning of the Relief Organization (M) Jammu for its failure to disburse new ration cards to Govt Employees, ration coupons and cash assistance to relief holders for the month of March 2018 .
Taking a dig at the functioning of Relief Organization , social activist Sunil Pandita said the organisation has become a den of corruption under the nose of Relief Commissioner who seems to be a mute spectator to all developments and corrupt employees rules the roost.
He said a process of disbursement of new ration cards to migrant Government employees was initiated after a long time but due to indifference of the relief staff it was thrown into bin without citing any specific reason thereupon, he added.
Sunil said last cash assistance to relief holders was disbursed in February on the occasion of Maha SHIVRATRI, since then two months have passed but the Relief organisation seems to be in slumber as it has failed to release the cash assistance for the month of March in favour of relief holders who depend upon this lone source of income and have been facing financial crisis."As the new academic session of the children has started but we have no money to purchase books and uniform for them", said Rakesh Kumar of Jagti.
While talking to EarlyTimes a group of migrant relief holders said that ration coupon books which were disbursed every year in the first week of April has not been received by the camp commandants as yet. They alleged that Relief Organisation has been working at its own whims and fails to meet the exigencies of Kashmiri Pandit migrants putting up at various camps and non camps in Jammu. |
