BAK lambasts CB for presenting challan in Rassana case
4/10/2018 11:19:37 PM
Early Times Report

Kathua, Apr 10: The Bar Association of Kathua (BAK) lambasted Crime Branch for presenting Challan in Rassana Case. All of the Members of the Bar have strongly agitated against the presentation of Challan by the Crime Branch in the "Rassana Case". The J&K Crime Branch has played foul and presented the challan stealthily before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua at his residence during late night hours.
The State Government has failed to analyse the gravity of the circumstances and further failed to understand the sentiments of the people. The agitation of the BAR shall continue and the members of the BAR has unanimously resolved that the accused persons of the said case may make their choice of any of the Advocate to represent them in the Court of Law at Kathua in the trial and such Advocate would contest the "Rassana Case" aka "Asifa Murder Case" on behalf of the accused persons free of cost.
There shall be complete Bandh on 11-04-2018 in the entire Jammu Province including Kathua in support of the demands put forth by the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and Civil Society too. The members of the BAR further condemn the irresponsible and demeaning statements of Ex-Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other sponsored media persons including Naseer Masoodi, Rahul Pandita, Zafar Iqbal, Altaf Malik, Yasin Malik etc.
They are trying to communalise the issue and their sarcasm has hurt the feelings and sentiments of the people of Jammu Province. The other demands of the J&K High Court BAR Association Jammu have also not been met with so far by the J&K Government. The BAR further appeals to the Vyapar Mandal Kathua, Private School Action Forum, Private School Association, Private School Coordination Committee, Transport Union, Matador Union, Bus Union, Taxi Union, Vegetable & Fruit Vendors Union to observe the Kathua Bandh peacefully and make it successful.
