| Udhampur's prime land falls to land mafia | | |

Udhampur , Apr 10 : Encroachment of state land across Udhampur city continues unabated as locals see a nexus between land grabbers and the revenue officials. The land mafia grab land at prime locations in the city including Sallain Talab , Dhar Road , Shiv Nagar and in the vicinity of the Near to Dak Banglow. "It is very shameful and highly commendable that land grabbers have not spared the Sishu Samadhies lan," locals said. The mafia succeeds in mutation of state land, sources in revenue department said.
They said the grabbed land is first converted into private land through mutation and then divided into polots which are then sold at high price.
The locals have sought intervention of the District Development Commi-ssioner. A probe by CBI has also been demanded. |
