It is Rahul vs Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls
4/10/2018 10:36:03 PM
Though the Lok Sabha polls are slated for next year, the BJP and the Congress continues to measure muscles. One cannot believe that a secular leader like, Rahul Gandhi,is visiting temple after temple to hoodwink the BJP and still calls the BJP as the most communal organization trying to divide Hindus from Muslims. And in doing so Rahul hopes to win the hearts of people and for compensating the image of emulating the BJP leadership he has been having luncheons or tea with Dalits and plans to visit Muslim shrines too to woo Muslims who may have felt embittered by his frequent visit to Hindu shrines and temples. The way Rahul Gandhi has been hitting Modi below the belt indicates that the Congress president is certain of victory of the Congress in the next Lok Sabha election. He has started predicting that Modi may lose even the Varanasi seat from which he was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 that enabled him to become the Prime Minister. And as Prime Minister Modi has had successes in promoting cordial ties with each country, including the neighbouring nations of India, except that of China and Pakistan.Well this is not accdepted by the Congress leadership which calls Modi's innings as a failure Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi for claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may lose from Varanasi in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP said the Congress president and his mother, Sonia Gandhi, will lose from their respective constituencies due to the people's growing "disappointment" with them. BJP spokesperson Anil Baluni said Rahul Gandhi should not worry about Modi and should rather be concerned about his and Sonia Gandhi's electoral fate in 2019. "In the kind of circumstances prevailing today, both Rahul and his mother, Sonia Gandhi, will lose from their seats, Amethi and Raebareli, respectively. They have done nothing in their constituencies and the people's disappointment with them is growing," he said. The comments came in the backdrop of Rahul Gandhi's claim that Modi may lose from Varanasi against a united opposition in 2019. Well this time Rahul Gandhi is trying to forge alliances with a number of regional level and national level parties because the experiment had proved a success in UP for a brief time. What is a matter of worry for the Congress is the way the BJP rule over 20 states and the Congress strength has sunk to four to five states . It has been seen in the past that Lok Sabha seats from the states ruled either by the Congress or the BJP fares well in the Lok Sabha elections. This is a sign of victory for the BJP. The Congress leadership is a bit unjust to Modi when it blames him for utter failure during the last over four years. Does the Congress leadership ignores Modi's contribution in winning the support of the USA, Germany, France, Japan and other super powers? Does the Congress leadership wishes to sideline Modi's contribution in helping India in receiving huge foreign investment in the manufacture of defence equipment and other valuable goods to enable the country have "Make in India" instead of make in USA or Germany? It seems so because the basis on which the Congress attacks Modi led Government is quite weak. But will the grand alliances of regional parties and those from the national level succeed in defeating Modi led BJP? This is a question that has to be answered by the voters in India because the voters are the real source of Modi's success or defeat.
