NMC seeks release of pending DA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9: Stressing on the need for issuance of SRO and order regarding the release of 2% dearness allowance(DA) installment, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri hoped that the ensuing cabinet meeting which is being held on 12th of April 2018,the State Government will expedite the orders in this behalf , paving way to extend the benefits of 7th pay commission and release of pending installment of DA to compensate the rising prices to the salaried class and pensioners of the state Govt. who are waiting for the same with greater amount of patience. "Since the process is still going on, the orders should be issued without any delay to reach the benefits alone with disbursement of pay/pension for the month of April 2018,as the allocation of funds has already been kept in the budget for 2018-19,there by showing a good will gesture towards the employees and pensioners." Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here. Shastri also urged the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to make amendments in the SRO-520, adding that SRO 520 needs some amendments including provision of wages of need base, casual and seasonal laborers who have been included and uploaded through biometric identification in 61,000 workers list but not being paid against any wages head in routine, allotment of proper scale while their conversion in regular cadre, need based workers who are in the list but not paid even single time be paid like other workers by making their budgetary provision against wages head, Shastri said that proper amendments in SRO 520 should be incorporated so that cumbersome verification process should not be a cause of inconvenience for these daily rated workers. He appealed to the CM to reconsider the policy and release the pending wages of need based and other workers immediately. Issuance of order of 180 daily rated workers working in Rural Development Department Jammu fall under SRO 64 enhancing medical allowance to Rs.2000/- per month beside enhancement of wages of daily rated workers to Rs.350/- per day were other demands highlighted in the meeting. Among others who were present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Bopinder Singh, Jai Paul Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Sardhri Lal, Tarseem Sharma, Suraj Parkash, Surinder Kumar, Mohd. Shafi, and others. |
