Udhampur, Apr13: A school functioning in a single room at Chowki Panchayat in Chenani for the past twenty-four years is awaiting upgradation.
According to locals, around 30 students are seeking education in the school with a single teacher for classes from Ist to fifth.
Another astonishing fact of this school is that it is functioning only in a single room.
"The kitchen, store, classroom etc are housed in a single room," informed Bansi Lal a local.
"Many times we approached the concerned educational authorities for facilities and upgradation but the authorities seem in no mood to do the needful," a villager said.
Locals said that they also brought the matter into the notice of DC Udhampur but all in vain. |
