Jammu, Apr 28: A national exhibition of paintings organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was inaugurated at Kala Kendra, Jammu by Zafar Iqbal Manhas, MLC and Vice- President, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the Chief Guest and Ramesh Arora, MLC was the guest of honour on this occasion. The exhibition is dedicated to late Suraj Saraf, a veteran Journalist of J&K. Works of 12 states of the country have been displayed in the exhibition. Veteran and senior artists of J&K State who are participating in the exhibition include N D Jamwal, T S Batra, Jang S Verman, Shafi Chaman, Aslam Naqishbandi, Kamalnain BHan, M Akram Khan, Manoj Chopra, Reecha Gupta, Ashok Mehra and O P Sharma. Young artists like Amrit Kaur, Anila Singh Charak, Payal Chadha Gupta, Naresh Gupta, Kareen Mahajan, Nidhi Jain, Shahida Malik, Sabeena Gul, Antima Manhas and KuanainZubair are also taking part. The artists from different states of India whose works have been displayed in the show are V S Rahi and Dr. A K Dixit (New Delhi), Prabhinder Lall and Harpuneet Kaur (Chandigarh), Dr. Nisha Soni (Rajasthan), Anuradha Thakur, Ramesh Bhosale and Raghu Nawere (Maharashtra), K S Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Mala Chawla, Gaytri and Dharminder Sharma (Punjab), Mamta Patel (Gujrat), Dr. Mamta Singh (Uttra Khand), Pratima Singh (UP), Ananny Roy Choudhary and Ashok Ganguly (West Bengal). It may be mentioned that JKCCA has successfully organized a number of All India Art Exhibitions and Art Camps and three International Art Exhibitions of Art (during December, 2015, January, 2017 and April, 2017 at Kala Kendra, Jammu). These events drew tremendous attention of the artists, art loving public and the media. Manhas appreciated the efforts of JKCCA that is working with zeal for the cause of Art and Culture. He said that the nations are remembered by its art and culture. He further added that art and artists unite the communities in a major way as art and culture has no boundaries of nations, and religions. Arora also expressed his views on the art exhibition and art in general. Dr. Alamdar Adam conducted the proceedings of the programme and also extended the vote of thanks. |
