Jammu, Apr 28: Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised a farmers' training programme on commercial organic fruits and vegetables growing here at village Kansi Patta of Pouni block in Reasi district. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi started the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He gave a detailed view on scientific organic fruits and vegetables growing and sensitized the farmers that the hilly areas have immense potential for organic fruits and vegetables growing. Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, scientist emphasized on the hybrid/improved varieties of fruits and vegetables which can give the better yields as compared to the traditional varieties. He stressed on the use of organic manures, bio-pesticides and bio-fertilisers in the soil for the commercial organic cultivation of fruits and vegetables. The programme was concluded by Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi with the vote of thanks. |
