APMCC to submit report on Migrant Employees living conditions to authorities | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 28: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) will soon submit a detailed report on the living conditions of Migrant Employees posted in Kashmir Valley to the government and seek immediate redressal of their grievances. This was disclosed by King C Bharati, Senior Journalist and National Spokesperson APMCC in a statement issued here today. Bharati informed that APMCC recently held a meeting to discuss the worsening condition of the living standards of Pandit employees posted in Valley due to the lackluster attitude and apathy of the local district administrations who have been flouting the direct orders of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir with impunity. He said that it was decided to send the APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit on a stock taking visit to all the employee colonies in Kashmir Valley and prepare a report on the demands and grievances of the employees who have been left to lurch by various quarters. Vinod Pandit visited various employee colonies on Thursday which include, Vessu (Kulgam), Mattan (Anantnag) Hall (Pulwama), Veervan (Baramulla) and Nutnusa (Kupwara) and talked to the residents there besides taking stock of the infrastructure available there, Bharati said. According to Arun Kandroo, general secretary of APMCC, the conditions in various colonies are miserable particularly the Pandit colonies in Veervan and Nutnusa where water crisis has gripped the colonies in such a way that employees have to fetch water from miles away in forest for drinking purposes. Vinod Pandit met cross section of employee representatives and employees in the colonies which include TN Pandita, Chairman and AK Bhat President of Veervan Pandit Colony, Satish Raina in Nutnusa, Ajay Bhat in Hall, Ranjan Jyotshi and Vinod Tikoo in Mattan and Sanajy Ji and Shakti Ji in Vessu to get the first hand information about the problems there. He said that the residents of the border districts of Kupwara and Bramulla colonies were the worst hit and expressed shock that the residential quarters which were burnt by the frenzied mob in July 2016 agitation have still not been repaired. |
