Early Times Report Jammu, May 10: A video showing animals roaming freely inside District Hospital Poonch has gone viral on social media, but the hospital authorities appear unmoved. The video, which was circulated on WhatsApp groups and other social networking sites, shows four horses roaming freely near blood bank and laboratories. The horses are seen coming out of a ward and no official and security guard was found there when some people shot the video. A patient said that he came to visit his kin admitted in the hospital. But after seeing the situation, he said he feels that "the hospital should be declared a zoo where animals can roam freely." "This shows that the hospital's staff is unconcerned about their job," he said, adding that just a couple of doctors are present on the duty in the hospital. It is pertinent to mention here that the state already has a bad reputation when it comes to healthcare, and an incident like the presence of horses in a hospital dents its image further. Before this incident, a group of monkeys had occupied the beds in Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu. "Stray dogs roaming in various government hospitals in the state has become a routine despite rising number of biting cases in past few years. But the authorities have failed to take any action," sources stated. "This is a serious issue how horses were roaming inside the hospital," Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch Dr. Mumtaz Bhatti told Early Times, He said he has sought explanation from the Medical Superintendent of the DH Poonch. |
