Scared of stone pelting, students from other states abandon Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 10: The brutal killing of a Chennai based youth by the stone pelters near Srinagar has not only led to the exodus of many tourists from several areas of Kashmir but the incident has also triggred running spree by the students of other states of the country pursuing various courses in the Valley. The students who fled from Kashmir thought that the situation in Valley was not safe for them. Few of the students, who reached Jammu said that their Kashmiri classmates were fine but the situation there was not conducive. A BEd student form Bihar said that students from other states were under immense fear following the attacks on tourists by the stone pelters. The student further said that repeated cancellation of exams and the prevailing situation in Kashmir after the killing of a tourist compelled him to go back home without appearing for the semester examination adding that right now it was not safe to stay back in Valley. He said that though he doesn't know whether his parents would allow him to return to Valley or not. |
