Red Cross day celebrations concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 11: A week long celebrations of "Red Cross Day" concluded in Carmel Convent Hr. Sec. School today. During the week different activities were organised including special morning assemblies and various competitions for all the classes. The celebrations concluded with the special programme organised by the Red Cross Club of the school today. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dinesh Gupta (Secretary, Red Cross Society, Jammu) followed by the special prayer service praying for the needy and the underprivileged. The role of the Red Cross Society and its founder Henry Dunant was highlighted through a PowerPoint Presentation. A speech by Anshika Gandhi of Std. IXth motivated the students to be ready for any casuality and to be responsive for all without any discrimination. The Chief Guest Dinesh Gupta addressed the students and briefed them about the prominent role of the Red Cross Society in our State J&K. The School Principal Maria Swati thanked the Chief Guest for his presence and emphasised upon the students to follow atleast 2 out of 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross Society in their lives. The Red Cross oath ceremony too took place in which all pledged to support and be there for the needy. |
