Haryana tourist, who went missing from south Kashmir, found in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 11: A tourist who had reportedly gone missing on Thursday in south Kashmir was found in Jammu on Friday morning, police said. Rahul Basan, a resident of Kundli in Sonepat district of Haryana, went missing from the Mattan temple in Anantnag district on Thursday afternoon. Jammu city (north) sub-divisional police officer Varun Jandial said, "Basan was found in the morning hours of Friday from Jammu bus stand. He is in good health and has reached here from Valley via bus. Meanwhile, we have informed the station house officer(SHO) Mattan, who is supervising the case." Police said, Basan came to Jammu and Kashmir with 14 others from Faridabad, for paying obeisance at the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, other temples and visiting tourist spots here. On Thursday afternoon, when the entire group was holding prayers inside the Mattan temple, Basan came out of the temple and was not found afterwards. It is learnt that Basan was facing marital discord and had been constantly using drugs. He never participated in any of the prayers. Later, his family had lodged a missing complaint with police. The incident that came close on the heels of killing of Chennai tourist in Narbal had send Mehbooba government into a tizzy. |
