Unilateral Ceasefire: Congress question BJP's compulsion for continue in coalition
5/11/2018 10:43:40 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 11: Taking pot shot over BJP crying foul play by its coalition partner PDP over the announcement for seeking unilateral ceasefire, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that this is nothing new for BJP but questioned its compulsion for continuance in the coalition, despite repeated such situations.
Taking strong exception to the functioning of the coalition of "North Pole & South pole" as the two partners are on loggerheads on almost all sensitive issues and have added more complexities to the already sensitive situation, more because of total inexperienced and inept handling by the BJP in the government, the Congress Spokesperson questioned as to why a battery of representatives of BJP in the all party meeting and thereafter in the media briefing, could oppose or assert but took a position, only next day under pressures.
He said that BJP which is equal partner in the government, comes out with a complaint next day against its own coalition partner blaming foul. Under these circumstances what is their political morality or ethics to continue the coalition. For that matter, the Chief Minister too has lost moral right to continue.
This is very surprising situation for the people of the state and they fail to understand the compulsion which binds them together in the government, while not being sincere to each other. BJP is mostly seen not being taken on board on various sensitive matters but it has specialized the art of swallowing humiliation. It has vindicated apprehensions that the power sharing of two diametrically opposite political forces could be very harmful for the overall health of this sensitive state. The present coalition of two unnatural allies would fall under its own weight but the damage done to the political, social and secular atmosphere in the state would be difficult to be repaired for a long, he added.
