DSEJ informs students about tele-counselling helplines

JAMMU, May 11: The counselling cell of Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has informed the students that various professional tele-counselling facilities existing at national and State level are providing counselling and professional help in confidential and trustworthy manner related to adolescent's psychological issues, career-related matters, sexual abuse, and other mental health-related issues.
Various tele-helpline numbers include National Adolescent Helpline: 1800-233-1250 by Union Ministry of Health, and National Substance Abuse Helpline: 1800-11-0031 by Ministry of Social justice and empowerment, National Career Helpline: 1800-425-1514 by Ministry of Labour and Employment, Childline No: 1098 by a renowned national NGO Childline India Foundation. Prevention of Children against sexual offences (POCSO) Helpline: 9868235077, E-BOX by Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Other helplines at State /Divisional level which have been publicized include Suicide prevention helpline:+91-9796606060 by NGO SARA, Life Nine: 18001807020 by NGO Kashmir Lifeline: and Counselling helpline: 9419210200,[email protected] by Counselling Cell Directorate of School Education Jammu.
Directions have also been issued to all the CEOs of Jammu Division to make students aware about these tele-helpline facilities during morning assemblies and also mount the list of all relevant Tele- helpline numbers on the school walls.
