Police arrest man for killing fiancé in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, May 13: Three days after 25 year old would-be-bride went missing mysteriously from hotel when she went for an outing with his husband, the young bride was found murdered allegedly by her husband who confessed to have concealed the dead body beneath rocks in streamlet near forests area of Mohra in Uri sector of this North Kashmir district.
Sources said that a young bride Rifat Bano D/o Bashir Ahmed Khan R/o Gujar Patti Sangri Colony Baramulla went missing mysteriously when she went for an outing with her fiancé. The dead body of Rifat was recovered from Mohra-Uri.
A police handout said that dead body of Rifat Bano daughter of Bashir Ahmad Khan resident of Gujar Patti Sangri Colony Baramulla was recovered from Mohara Uri. The girl was missing since 10/05/2018 and the girl's family had lodged a report of her abduction on 11/05/2018 at Police Station Baramulla, said handout.
Case FIR No 79/2108 under section 366,109 RPC was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, fiancé of the missing girl namely Sajad Ahmad Bhatti son of Siraj-din-Bhatti resident of Mohra, Uri turned out to be the prime suspect in this case who was apprehended. During questioning accused confessed to his crime and led the police team to Mohra, Uri and upon his identification, the dead body of missing girl was recovered.
The girl had reportedly gone to meet her fiancé with whom she was formally engaged. Nikah ceremony had already taken place and wedding dates were being finalized by the families. Initial investigation suggests the motive behind the murder was that the accused was allegedly having affair with some other lady.
The body of the deceased will be handed over to the relatives after completion of medico-legal formalities. Charges of murder section 302 RPC have been added to the case registered in this instant matter.
