Khour residents demand Pak based SIM cards following absence of signal of Indian based network providers | | | Early Times Report
Khour, May 13: On one hand as the central government is launching various schemes like Digital India, Smart India etc on the other hand all such schemes are useless with non-availability of mobile phone network in far flung border area of Khour block. Irritated over this, locals of the areas today asked the state government to provide Pakistan based SIM cards which have full signal strength in the area. Locals of Sub Division Khour today raised slogans for issuing Pakistan based SIM cards which have good network at Panchyat Bardoh in Khour block. Locals staged protest by placing a hoarding in main Chowk of Bardoh of Khour Block printed with "welcome to Indian village Bardoh with Paksitan network' as the signal of Indian based mobile network providing companies is not available in the area. Protestors alleged that it is long pending demand of locals Bardoh, Battal, Jogwan, Dhakkar, Kalah and Mukeri villages that signal of Indian mobile phone network providers is not available in these areas whereas signal strength of Pakistan based network providers is very good and the government failed to resolve the issue. "Schemes of Central Government like Digital India, Cashless India, Smart India, New India are useless for them in absence of mobile network", said a protestor adding that if state government failed to provide mobile network of Indian company then they should provide them SIM cards of Pakistan based mobile network providers. Protestors also threatened to boycott all the elections if they failed to provide mobile network in their areas. |
