Unrest among youth needs to be addressed on priority: Mir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 13: Redressal of fast growing unrest and trust deficit among youth of J&K is a core issue of Jammu & Kashmir and needs to be addressed on priority said former Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council and Convener, Foundation for Peace and Social Justice, Jahangir Hussain Mir, while addressing the representatives of youth driven from various districts here today. Mir identified mis-governance and unaddressed unemployment while explaining various causes of such alarming situation which may reach to a point of no return if a concrete Youth Policy for J&K is not formulated and acted upon immediately. Ashok Sharma, Advocate and State Convener, Indian Council for Enviro-Legal Action urged upon the misguided youth of the state to join national mainstream and work for the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. He also stressed upon to inculcate moral values, brotherhood and religious harmony in the academics curriculum besides restoration of Centuries old Gurukul concepts to achieve Vasu Dev Kutumbhkam (Global Village) in his concept papers. State Convener, Arjun Sharma pleaded for unity among the youth of regions and sub-regions of the state irrespective of caste, colour or creed and demanded educated unemployment allowance besides good governance to brighten the future of youth and students of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh. |
