One day farmers training programme organized | | | Early times Report
Samba, May 25: Farmers Training Centre (FTC) Krishi Bhawan, Jammu on the instructions of Director Agriculture H K Razdan and Deputy Director of Agriculture (Trainings) Sunil Koul today organized a one day Farmers Training Programme at village Rampur under Zone-Vijaypur of Samba District in which 50 farmers of the area participated. Speaking on the occasion Agriculture Information Officer Jammu Jagdish Chander Raina advised the farmers to increase their income through reduction of cost of cultivation utilizing good agricultural practices, use of balanced dose of fertilizers, growing the off seasonal vegetables/flowers and usage of latest efficient agricultural machinery. He asked the farmers to insure their crops against vagaries of weather under newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFSBY). Raina also spoke on the importance of growing turmeric, Ginger, garlic, Mash, Moong, organic crops and local specialties to fetch good returns. R. K. Mathu, Demonstrator, FTC Jammu spoke on the Integrated Pest/Disease Management and on Integrated Nutrient Management in the Kharif Crops. He said that the farmers can raise their income through value addition of their products and diversification of agriculture through apiculture, mushroom cultivation and flower cultivation. Mukesh Khajuria, Agriculture Extension Assistant, FTC, Jammu highlighted the importance of Soil Health Cards and Seed Treatment in the crop production. |
