BJP's bastion gets nothing

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 25: Jammu as well as Ladakh region have been discriminated yet again.
The Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department has released Rs 32.14 crore out of Rs 80 crore under MGNREGA for Jammu.
According to the order (No. 126-RD&PR of 2018, dated 18/5/2018), the four major districts of Jammu region, including Jammu the winter capital of state, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur have got nothing.
"In Jammu region, Doda gets Rs 5.83 cr, Kishtwar 9.80 cr, Poonch 2.23 cr, Rajouri 10.42 cr, Ramban 2.40 cr and get Rs 1.78 cr," sources in the department said.
They said that in the Valley, Anantnag district has got highest funds. "Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has great love for Anantnag, as in the past she had been Member Parliament from Anantnag. That is why the district has got Rs 15.16 cr; Budgam Rs 6.53 cr, Bandipora Rs 1.49 cr, Kupwara Rs 9.93 cr, Pulwama Rs 6.81 cr, Shopian Rs 1.06 cr, while Srinagar, Ganderbal and Kulgam have got nothing", sources said and added that Leh district of Ladakh region also didn't get anything.
However, sources in Civil Secretariat, quoting Secretary RDD, P&R, Sheetal Nanda, said that there was no need of funds in Jammu as in the past "huge funds have been given to Jammu, and there is no need of funds in near future."
Meanwhile, reacting on the discrimination meted out to Jammu city, a BJP MLA, from Jammu, wishing not to be named, said that, PDP is not willing to develop the city, where the party is facing criticism for its anti-Jammu approach.
"People from Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur are supporting the campaign for CBI probe into the Rassana case, and it is not easy for the party to digest it. That is why Jammu is being ignored", said the MLA, who has been a minister in the BJP-PDP coalition in the past.
"Presently, a mass movement is going on against Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in all the districts which have left out", the MLA said and regretted silence of BJP ministers over this issue.
