EarlyTimes Report JAMMU, May 25: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Dr Vivek Gupta,, today Greater Kailash Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 51 kg poppy straw from his possession. Police spokesman said that team from police post Greater Kailash while on routine naka duty at Greater Kailash Chowk, Jammu signaled one truck to stop for Police checking which was on way from Narwal towards Kunjwani. Spokesman further said that seeing the police party, driver of the truck managed to escape leaving behind the truck. "During search of the vehicle, Police party recovered 51 Kgs. Poppy Straw", said police spokesman adding that in this regard a case under FIR No.46/2018 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Gangyal while further investigation of the case is going on. The recovery was made by the team headed by SHO Gangyal, SI Nayat Ali and in-charge police post Greater Kailash, SI Vicky Thapa under the supervision of SDPO City South, Jammu Mohd Rafiq Manhas and SP City South Jammu, Sandeep Choudhary. |
