Workshop on SHG-Bank Linkage Programme organized | | | Early Times Report REASI, May 28: Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission and UMEED today organized a workshop on SHG-Bank Linkage programme in Umeed office Pouni, Reasi. The aim of the workshop was to sensitize the bankers and the community for proper implementation of the programme and offer an opportunity for direct interaction between bankers and SHG members. District Programme Manager (FI) JKSRLM Ved Raj Sharma and Block Programme Manager JKSRLM Arsheed Ahmad Bhat while speaking on the occasion presented an overview of activities, approach and achievements of UMEED, particularly in the area of financial inclusion. He said the mandate of SRLM is to reach out to 66 percent of rural population and link them to sustainable livelihood opportunities. Branch Head JK Bank Ransoo who also spoke on the occasion said the J&K Bank is committed to walking an extra mile in efforts towards financial inclusion and empowerment of women and assured the SHG members of hassle-free credit facilities to identified SHGs from the bank. Other bankers speaking on the occasion said SHG credit linkage is a social concern and a promising business proposition and assured of all kinds of possible assistance to the SHGs. |
